Introduction

The Australian Agricultural Data Exchange (AADX) is a program of Charles Sturt University (Charles Sturt), delivered through CSU AgriPark. This policy explains how Charles Sturt collects, uses, stores and protects personal information in connection with the AADX website, the AADX platform and AADX programs and events.

Personal information collected through the AADX is managed in line with the Charles Sturt University Privacy Management Plan, which applies to all personal information held by the University.

Some service providers may store information outside NSW or Australia. Where this happens, we require them by contract to protect personal information in line with NSW privacy law.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. Access to personal information is limited to authorised people for legitimate purposes.

We keep personal information only as long as needed and in line with the State Records Act 1998 (NSW), then dispose of it securely.

No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure. If you prefer not to send information through our website, you can contact us by phone or post.

9. Access and correction

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. In some circumstances you may also ask us to delete it. There is no charge for these requests.

If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will tell you why in writing and explain how you can make a complaint.

You can also apply in writing to the Privacy Officer for an internal review. Applications should be made within six months of becoming aware of the conduct, and reviews are usually completed within 30 days.

If a data breach involving your personal information is likely to cause you serious harm, Charles Sturt will notify you and the NSW Privacy Commissioner, in line with the NSW Mandatory Notification of Data Breach scheme.
